TSG Network Fault

Why is my (TSG) Device dropping packets on the network?

The TSG units use a software based network connection rather than a hardware network connection.

This simply means that if the device processor is busy it then may take a few moments to respond which is too slow for the constant ping test that is being thrown at the device, so it’s not actually a fault it’s more of a slow technology on a fast network

It’s not just TSG devices, other manufactures of embedded networks have the same issues, and some a lot worse. We have also seen network switches that don’t work well with embedded devices and some switches that create virtual connections which cause problems, even bad cables.
