Malwarebytes End of March Cloud Platform Update

Blog by Daniella Smith | Posted on Tuesday March 19 2019

Malwarebytes is performing a maintenance update to their cloud platform on:

March 21, 2019 at 8:00PM EST / 5:00PM PST.

Malwarebytes anticipates less than 3 hours of downtime while they perform this update.

Your endpoints will continue to receive updates and be 100% protected during this time.

New Features:

  • Policy-level exclusion options. Exclusions can now be applied at either an individual policy level or globally across your organisation. This allows you to adjust your security posture to meet the specific needs of different groups within the organisation.
  • Single Sign-On now supports service provider initiated login (solicited SSO), in addition to the ability to enable Just-in-Time (JIT) provisioning.
  • If the Service Provider Initiated SSO setting is enabled, the Malwarebytes Cloud Console will use the email address during login to determine if a user is with your identity provider. If the lookup is successful, the user will be redirected to your identity provider’s Authentication methods.
  • The Just-in-Time (JIT) Provisioning option allows IT administrators to determine whether an initial login to the Malwarebytes Cloud Console will automatically create a local Malwarebytes Cloud user account. This will remove the need to manage identities in two places making account provisioning simple.

Malwarebytes next cloud platform update is scheduled for April, 2019.
