Anviz FaceDeep 5: Daylight Saving Time

How to set Daylight Saving Time on the Anviz FaceDeep 5

Firstly ensure that the Anviz FaceDeep 5 device is powered on and connected to your network.

  1. Navigate to the Admin menu by clicking on cog icon in the bottom right of the screen.
    • The default login is:
      • ID: 0
      • PW: 12345
  2. Go to ‘Settings’ and click ‘Time’
    • Set the Mode to Auto, then click the back arrow to save
    • Set the standard Time Zone to what your country uses (e.g. GMT +0 for the UK). Use the arrows at the bottom to navigate the times
    • Click the back arrow again to save, but make sure to stay in the Time Menu or the settings changed previously will reset to default
    • Change the date format to what your country uses (e.g. DD-MM-YY for the UK)
    • Now change ‘Server’ to the NTP Server IP Address correct for your country (e.g. 80.86.38.193 for the UK). The Numeric IP entered has to be numeric – Alphanumeric addresses won’t work
    • Now click ‘Set Time’ before leaving this menu. It may say Set Time Failed. If so, click ‘Set Time’ a few more times until it reads Successful
    • Now click the back arrow again to come out of the ‘Time’ menu and click ‘DST’
  3. Follow this if you are making this change during the Summer +1 time forward. Go to 4. if it’s not +1 hour.
    • Go to ‘DST’ and change DST from Close to Date
    • Change the Modify field to what is correct for your country (e.g. +1 hour for the UK)
    • When setting DST for the first time the start date needs to be in the future of your current time so the trigger can occur to update the time. For example if the current day is the 1st of October and it is 09:00, you would set the DST start date to be 10/01 at 08:02 as the device will still be set 1 hour behind. Once the time ticks to 08:02 your device will trigger and read the correct time of 09:02
    • Go to 5.
  4. Follow this if you are making this change during the standard time (GMT for the UK) of the year (i.e. Not +1 hour)
    • Go to ‘DST’ and change DST from Close to Date
    • Change the Modify field to what is correct for your country (e.g. +1 hour for the UK)
  5. Change the Start Date to the correct dates for your country’s daylight saving times (e.g. 03-26 and 10-29 for the UK in 2023). The format here is MM-DD
    • You also need to change the Time, for Spring enter 00:01 as this when the Clocks will go forward 1 hour. For Autumn enter 01:01 as this is when the clocks will go back.
    • Save the times
    • Now click the back arrow again until you are back at the login screen of the device and check that the time is set correctly
    • Your device will now check with the NTP server every 12 hours to correct its time

Please note you will need to update the DST dates once each one has passed (e.g. again for 2023).
