We’ve been asked the following:
How does facial recognition work where we have long term employees and they are ageing.
Does facial recognition accommodate any changes in the face, for example weight gain/loss?
Answer: In modern facial recognition devices this isn’t an issue. The devices learn and adapt each time you clock in on them. So subtle changes to the face are noticed and the User’s template will be updated as it happens.
If however a User hasn’t used a device for a long time or has a dramatic change to their features then it is possible that the device will no longer recognise the User.
In these instances all you will need to do is re-enrol the User. This takes less than a minute to do, so is easily rectified.
