Palm Recognition Terminals

Biometric authentication via palm vein recognition providing fast, hygienic and highly secure Time & Attendance

Time & Attendance Systems using palm vein recognition

Palm vein recognition is one of the most secure ways to record your employee time & attendance.

Works with dirty or damaged hands

Cuts, callouses, dirt and wet hands make no difference to the read.

Extremely difficult to fake

A vein pattern can’t be lifted from a surface or copied from a photograph, and it only reads on a living hand. No-one can clock in their buddy.

GDPR

One of the biggest challenges in shift-based environments is inaccurate clocking.GDPR & Biometric Data

Our biometric devices securely store biometric data but it can’t be used elsewhere.
A random matrix of data is taken from a user’s fingerprint or face (rather than a full identifiable scan),  an algorithm is applied and then the data is encrypted as it’s stored. This data isn’t readable by any other type of device and you can’t get any images of a face or fingerprint back out. It’s a one-way process only.

For more information see: National Cyber Security Centre – Using Biometrics

Biometric data is classed as Special Category Data by the ICO and so you must offer Users an alternative way to clock. All of our devices also have RFID card/tag or ID & PIN as secondary options.

Software de control horario y asistencia

The complexity of reports you require from your time and attendance records will determine what software package we recommend to you. We have plenty of different software packages to suit all businesses.

Some popular reporting capabilities include:

How palm vein recognition works

Step 1

Present your palm

Select in or out on the screen, then hold your hand in front of the terminal. There’s no card to tap, no PIN to enter and no contact with the device at any point.

Step 2

The camera scans your vein

An infrared camera captures the vein pattern beneath the skin. Because the pattern sits inside the hand, dirt, cuts and wet hands make no difference to the read.

Step 3

Matched in an instant

The pattern becomes an encrypted template and is matched against the stored record in under a second. The employee is clocked in and on their way to work.

Ideal for Manufacturing, Food Production & Healthcare

Dirty, wet or damaged hands still read first time, so employees aren’t stuck retrying at the terminal.

Why palm vein time & attendance devices suit manufacturing, food production and healthcare:

  • Works on damaged hands: cuts, callouses, worn prints and scarring don’t affect the read, so employees in manual trades stop failing at the terminal.
  • Unaffected by dirt and moisture: grease, dust, water and cold hands make no difference to an infrared vein read.
  • Fully contactless: nothing to touch, which matters in food-safe, clinical and laboratory environments.
  • Very hard to spoof: the pattern only reads on a living hand, so nobody clocks in for anybody else.
  • Two biometrics, one terminal: run palm vein for staff on the floor and facial recognition for office teams from the same device.
  • Built for tough sites: IP65 rated, so the terminal handles dust and water where it needs to.
